Ritual creature made from obsidian clay, crystal glaze, 18k gold glaze. Obsidian clay is a temperamental clay that must be fired at Cone 5 to avoid bloating. Once fired, it achieves a near-black, obsidian finish. Glaze and metallic overglaze are added and fired at varying temperatures to achieve a crystalline and metallic effect.

Inspired by Chinese fu dogs and money-toads, this ritual creature symbolizes protection and can serve as a ward for the home.

Each creature is handmade (there will be slight variations). Dimensions are approximately 3 × 3 1/4 × 3 1/2 in.
